MY YOGA JOURNEY

I always joke, I didn’t find yoga, yoga found me.

My practice began in 2007 when I serendipitously passed by Women’s Space and noticed their sign advertising an eight week hatha yoga course. I signed up and purchased a yoga bundle to prepare for the class - the set included a DVD instructed by Rodney Yee. To this day, Rodney’s breath-centered approach directs my teaching and my practice.

Shortly after I discovered yoga, I began practicing Iyengar at Pranayama. In 2009, I moved to Chicago and fell deeply in love with vinyasa yoga. In 2012, I received my 200HR Yoga Alliance certification through the guidance of Elizabeth Hinker and I began teaching public classes shortly thereafter. In 2014, I became certified in Reiki Level Two and I now incorporate the profound benefits of healing touch into my classes.

My practice heals me — spiritually, mentally, emotionally, and physically. We each have our own experience, though - I am here to help guide you safely into yours.

As a teacher with 4000+ hours of instruction, I strive to continuously experience the practice as a beginner. I blend my powerful personal transformation with my lifelong athleticism and my connection to music, storytelling, and the chakras. I guide each class as an opportunity to move and be still, to be strong and soft, and to be authentic and genuine.
